My Pet Donkey

This morning Anna Claire wanted Lizzie to play with her and Lizzie would not play. I asked Anna Claire if she could play with "Benny" our donkey and surprisingly she was thrilled! She bossed him around all

morning until we left for mother's day out.

Disaster Zone

My parents, mostly my dad, complained constantly about how messy my room was during jr. high and high school. It has come back to haunt me!!! Check out Lizzie's room after naptime today!

You can't see it very well but she carefully made her bed hoping to get a sticker on her chore chart.

My dad would get the biggest kick out of this payback!!!

Poodle Day Holiday

My friend smocked the girls two cute poodle dresses. Lizzie will not wear hers because she doesn't "love dogs!"

Anna Claire happily wore hers the other day and told Lizzie she would HAVE to wear it on "Poodle Day Holiday!" It was a reference to Lizzie having to wear her Valentine outfit on Valentine's Day, even though she didn't "love" it.

If anyone knows when Poodle Day holiday is let me know so I can make Lizzie wear her cute dress.

Playing Pretend

The other day during naptime Anna Claire was so into the fun she was having; singing, talking... (My rule is that you don't have to sleep during naptime but you have to stay in your room.) Afterwards I asked what she was playing and she told me about some Strawberry Shortcake storyline. Then I asked who she played with and she said, "Mom! I was only pretending!"

Some days she does sleep during naptime. Russ captured this sweet picture of a sleeping angel! She is starting to read and she curled up in her chair with a book and a blanket and her black dog. So sweet!

Brady Bunch Fans

Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!

Last Monday night Anna Claire fell and "bonked" her nose on our slide steps playing "Baby Jaguar". After making sure her nose wasn't broken I had to laughed because it reminded me of Marsha Brady getting hit in the nose with a football. At first her nose was swollen but now she only has the scratch between her eyes.

"water"

Yesterday we got up super early (530am) and went to give out water for a big race downtown. Luckily, our water stop had a playground on it so the girls played while we got the water/powerade poured into cups. The race started at 7am and we were at the first water stop. The girls watched us give out water to the runners then Anna Claire started helping. She yelled, "Water, runners! Water!" There were thousands of runners and she loved helping. Once the walkers started coming through she would get in the middle of the street to hand them their water. Toward the end a couple came walking by and Anna Claire gave the lady a cup of water and told her she could share it with her husband! SO FUNNY!!!
Lizzie was "frozen" but she had fun too. Her favorite runner was the full-grown man with a long goatee wearing a pink leotard, pink tutu, and pink tights. Any suggestions on how to explain that to a 3 year old???

Lizzie is so funny to me! Today she told me she wanted me to turn into a little girl this spring. So I asked her who would be the mommy if I was a little girl. She said, "Daddy can turn into a mommy this spring!"
Apparently big changes are coming for our family in the spring!

A Valentine Movie

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day! I bought the girls shirts that say "Daddy's Sweetheart" but as you can tell Lizzie was not feeling very sweet or happy to be in these photos!

Soccer Fun

Last weekend Russ played in an alumni soccer game for his high school. The girls had so much fun cheering on their daddy. Anna Claire even made up her own cheer:

Tonight, after we had put the girls in bed Anna Claire got up and needed to use the bathroom. Unfortunately for her Russ had just sat down on our toilet. She knocked on the door and yelled, "Daddy, I have to use the bathroom!" He said, "Go use your potty." "I want to use yours" was her reply. So she laid down outside the door and waited. The same conversation was repeated about 2 more times with breaks of her laying down waiting in between. Finally she said, "Daddy, this is taking forever! I'm not going to get back to bed before it's morning!"
Russ and I had a great laugh over this!

hair dressers

My girls have lots of hair - especially Lizzie! I use to be able to keep her hair out of her face by using a little barrette but those days are long gone! Anna Claire's hair is not as thick as Lizzie's so I keep barrettes around for her hair. Actually, when I took them for haircuts a couple of weeks ago Val said Lizzie has a cow-lick that makes her hair fall in her face and that she had lots more hair than other 3 year olds.

Back to the point - Lizzie desperately wants to wear the beautiful, fancy barrettes she got from Magee at Christmas that have princesses on them. They just don't keep her hair out of her face. Well, tonight she and Anna Claire went into the bathroom and came out with new hair-dos. Anna Claire had 7 barrettes and Lizzie had 5! So stylish...

Redecorating

Yesterday, Lizzie redecorated our refrigerator with beautiful drawings! She asked for them to be put on the computer so Magee and Pabo could see!
